About OnShort

An English guide to 150 short films of 40 minutes or less.

OnShort, the name of a short-video app of 2022, returns as a guide to short films. Its 150 films all last 40 minutes or less on TMDB, and they sit on twelve shelves in four families: the shorts of the big animation studios, the cartoon classics, the silent era and the new shorts of anime, independent animation and live action. Each shelf keeps its most voted films. Every film has an English synopsis, credits and a Watch now button that opens it on JustWatch for the country you choose.

Each card carries the tag of its shelf, from Pixar to Live action.

My List is kept in your browser. Data and images come from TMDB, and availability on each platform from JustWatch.

How these pages work

OnShort groups movies and TV shows so you can find what you are after quickly: by name, genre, language, country, year, collection or the A-Z list. Each title page shows the original name, the synopsis, the seasons and dated episodes we have, and a Watch now button that opens the title on JustWatch for your chosen country.

My List keeps your saved titles in this browser. Titles play on the service you open with Watch now, in HD and with subtitles where the service offers them. Titles, posters and production data come from TMDB.
